Hey! Aunt Mary came up!
Well, I'll be! My wonderful Aunt Mary came up to visit us this weekend. Mary is one of the kindest souls the world has ever seen. Every time I see her I get a smile as big as my face on for at least the length of our visit.
The funny part is that Mary has been feeling a little blue, and we have been pushing for her to come up and visit. I am a big believer that if you feel down (which I have been known to do myself having been diagnosed with bi-polar disorder), you need to get out and see people, weather you want to or not, to break your mood. The other thing that is funny (in an odd way) is that Mary hates driving on the highway, or in bad weather. The highway part is pretty unavoidable when coming up here, but the weather you can avoid usually.
Mary called each day this week, telling us she was coming, but needed to do things before she could come up. We kept telling her that the weather was fine, but going to get bad later in the week. Well, Thursday morning she called and asked how the weather was, and we are kind of at the edge of most systems that come through MI, and even though one might be coming, the weather was fine when she called. Well, she started up (it is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from her house), and an hour later, the weather got bad. She got here fine, but it turned downright horible after she arived.
We have had snow, rain, sleet, hale, and bitter cold since she arrived, but our hearts are warm. I can not tell you how much fun it is to have her here. Since she came we have had a great time having meals and talking, shopping, going to lunch at Bob's Lounge, home of the greatest Bob's Lounge Burger in the world, and just really caught up with each other. It is a really good time.
More to follow!
Take care!
